Whats up guys? I'm torn between 2 cars. 1 is a 2001 2002 Camaro SS and the other is a 1999 or 2000 Vette. If I could aford it I would get a new Z06 and not worry about anything but 50 g's is a lil steep for me right now. Ok here is the thing. My friend Chris thegame on this board got his 99 FRC 3 weeks ago and he loves it it is his first stick so I'm helping him with the driving questions. I have driven his car and fell in love. All my life I have had 3rd gen camaros. Right now my baby is in the shop getting a new motor and a blower  I'm saving money to buy a new car. Like within the last 4 years new. I love the way the Vette handels and drives nice and smooth. But then I love the Camaro. Is there a way that I can get the 2001 2002 Camaro SS to handel as good or if not better then the Z51. With both cars I'm looking at about spending 25 to 30 g's with about 15 g's down. I think I might be better with the Vette cause it already handels better and I would probably have to spend another 3 or 4 g's in suspension mods for the Camaro. Someone help me out. Thanks guys.
I was at Bragg-Smith driving school last month. They teach in new (2002) Camaro SSs, Z51 C5s, and Z06s. According to the instructors there, the bone stock Camaro SS and Z51 C5 run almost identical times on their 2.2 mile road course when driven by experienced drivers. The big difference is the Camaros are a bit more challenging without the active handling. Hope this helps.
