I had my car in to have a bit of exhaust pipe straightened out (some a$$ backed into one of my tips), and my exhaust guy mentioned that he thought my car was running quite rich. Now, without cats my car isnt the least smelly vehicle on the planet, but I too have noticed its been smelling a bit more rich lately too. He thought that it likely would be a bad MAF, as both the upstream O2 sensors were functioning properly and the rear ones have been removed.
Is there any way to test the MAF? Does this seem like this is a logical source of the problem?
Remove the entire air filter/MAF/AIR Bridge assembly, remove the filter, spray in some MAF Cleaner Spray (I just use Brake Parts Cleaner) thru the honey comb screen and wash all the dirt and oil out and allow it to dry/evaporate. Reassemble the assy on the bench and pop it back in the car and reconnect.
Once you do that, see how it runs. If it doesn't run better, like it was previously recommended, find some one local to you with EFI Live or HP Tuners and ask them to data log your car. You will learn LOADS of info.
