T1 bars vs z06
Also should i change the front tires as well since i heard that the run flats suck and its the front tires that give you your grip as you hug corners????So whats the best set up for the best handling vette????
Your '99 FRC has the Z51 suspension, which in itself, is a very good suspension which will give you plenty of cornering power. If you go to High Performance Street tires all around (See tire Rack for choices) your C5 will handle even better. Never change the type of tire on only one axel. This will cause you handeling problems.
Unless you plan to race your car, your C5 has more handeling and cornering power with a good set of tires than you will ever be able to use. If you are serious about learning a lot about how to drive your Vette and it's corning limits, then go to one fo the available "High Speed Driving Schools" where you can drive your own car. It will teach you a lot about how to get the max out of your C5 and it's limitations.
Your comment about the front tires giving you better grip when you hug the corners, tells me that you are not fully knowledgable in the dynamics of cornering or understand what driver inputs are necessary to go around corners quickly and safely. Don't forget, your car was engineered with a balance between springs, anti-sway bars, shocks and allignment specs. When you start messing with bars, shocks, or something else you are unbalancing what it took Millions of Dollars of engineering to do.
I suggest you go with a good set of high performance tires to start with and see if that gives you the feel you're looking for. Good Luck with your project. :D
