Im going to convert my C3 headlights to electric and I need your C5
help. I picked up a electric headlight motor but Im a little confused.
Does this motor arm spin 360 degrees or stop at each 180, I hooked up the wires to power and it spins 360 degrees and I dont see how that would work, I need to see the linkage work in a video.
Thanks

It stops when the end of travel of the door assy is reached. That is aprox 180 degrees of rotation of the motor shaft. When the arm attached to the motor shaft hits the stops, the Headlamp Control Module senses high current draw, and shuts off power to the motor. You're attempting a Electrical and Mecchanical nightmare, compared to making the Vacuum system on a C3 work properly. But it's your car and you will enjoy the challenge. Let us know how it works out. Have you got C5 Service Manuals, if not you'll need Schematics. Post your request, ok?

Why convert to electric? The vacuum ones in the C3 aren't that complicated and are generally sturdier.

If you use the C5 headlight hardware,,,like byronhunter stared,,,you will need to incorporate the head light control module to make the motor work properly. The old C4 and Fireo headlight motors may suit your install a lot better. There basically the same but have built in limiting switches. They use the torque of the motor armature to press on a set of contacts to stop the motor at the end of travel and set up the opposite polarity for the reverse direction.

Good luck.
