I replaced the two bulbs in my mirror the other day and at first things seemed okay. However, as I adjusted them, I noticed that they no longer light when the door is opened. I can turn on the map lights with no problem with the switches on the mirror but I can't get them to come on when the door opens.
All the other interior lights works that I can tell and I went looking for a fuse but found nothing directly for the mirror.
It's bugging me more than anything, I tried mucking with them again today but nothing. I tried the reset someone mentioned - that didn't do anything.
Thanks Bryonhunter. That was it. I had meant to do this early but weather has been bad and my garage is to small to get the doors opened fully so I put it off. I never noticed the foot well lights being out, they are so dim that I just never thought twice about it.
It wasn't until I went to take the car in today for its emission check thing and they couldn't get the computer to link up. I had to submit my poor Vette to the old fashioned plug and rods up the tail pipe. The Diagnostic port wouldn't light up, so when I got home I went and grabbed your post. Low and behold, that was it. Replaced the fuse, lights came back on on the mirror and all is back to normal including the Diagnostic port. Who would have thought the two related.
