Are the door lights on too? Wait 10 minutes or so, it might be the delay on turning off when you leave the car. Stock lights stayed on too but not as easy to see them.

Unfortunately, the lights stayed on all night. Luckily the LED's don't use much power and the battery was fine. The door lights turn off after a minute or two. Still puzzled.
The good thing is you have them working and that means the polarities are right.
Did you use any extra solder when putting the LEDs in? Usually don't need extra as the solder there from the stock bulbs is enough. I'd pull it open again and look carefully for any solder bridges (Unintended connections made on the circut board with solder.)
Make note of how the LEDs line up and make any small adjustments to the alignment for best illumination while you have it open.
I've only seen this happen with some 97s and 98 HVAC units, the LEDs will stay on constantly for some unexplained reason. Did you happen to notice what your HVAC model number was????
The only other explanantion is that you have a short and fried some circuitry on the power board as minitech suggested. Pull your unit back out and look at the lower right corner on the power board for any charred tracks...
