evaporator a/c question
I'm new to the forum. I've been lurking for a while now. There are alot of knowledgable corvette owners here and I was hoping some one could help me. I am replacing my a/c compressor (using instructions I found on this forum) and need to access the evaporator to flush it. Can anyone tell me the easiest way to get to the evaporator. It is mounted under the windshield on the driver's side fo the car. The only way I can see to get to it, is to remove the intake manifold, etc... to gain access to it. Please tell me there is an easier way!
Thanks for your help.

No need to remove the evaporator to flush it. There are two lines that meet near the accumulator that go to/from the evaporator. The line that contains the orifice tube is the high pressure line to the evaporator, and the other line that connects to the rear port on the accumulator is the return coming from the evaporator. When I flushed mine, I flushed from the accumulator side out to the high-pressure side toward the orifice tube. This was done with the accumulator and orifice tube removed, of course.
Hope this helps.
