Default Injector ?

If you put a set of the SVO 30# in will you need a retune? I had the car dyno tuned on Friday, but I can get a good deal on a slightly used set of the mentioned injectors. Will I see a difference? Hurt, Help?

Yes, the IFR table in the tune will need to be adjusted to reflect the difference in flow rate. The PCM needs to know how much fuel it is prescribing, and that table is what correlates it.

If you are running out of injector now (over 100% duty cycle at WOT), they will definitely help you. If not, there will be no significant difference. Generally speaking, they will be needed for a heads/cammed car. If you haven't modified to that extent, you probably don't need them.

If you install them w/o the tune change, you will run quite rich, perhaps to the point the PCM cannot compensate through fuel trims.

A little more info about the engine mods you have will offer a more specific answer.

If it was just tuned, ask your tuner what your peak IDC (Injector Duty Cycle) was on the dyno pulls.

If much over 80%, the 30# would be a good/suggested buy for you, and your tuner would probably/hopefully make the tune adjustment for you at little or no cost.

Plus, it will give you a little room to grow in hp if you decide to add some heads in the future.

Talk to your tuner, and see what he says. You may be fine now, you may be borderline. If it's the latter, I'd grab the "good deal" injectors and install them.

I had my car dyno'd and tuned when I installed my headers, high flow cats and X-pipe. The tuner mentioned at the time that my injectors were running at 85% and for my next round of mods I should consider injectors. When I installed my ported LS6 intake and ported/polished throttle body I installed the SVO 30 injectors and he retuned the car free. According to him, I'm good now for a serious heads/cam job.

Given your mods I'd say do it now, especially if you can get a good deal on the injectors.
