Underhood Chirping Noise
Hi All,
Earlier this week I had my belts replaced at the dealer. Car ran/sounded fine for about a day and a half. Now, after the engine heats up i get a chirping noise between 1500-4000 rpms coming from the engine bay. The noise gets louder and speeds up with revs, but the rhythm is slower than the belts are moving. Anyone had a similar problem? I should also point out that my main drive pulley has a slight wobble.

As far as the noise goes, it could be any one or more of a number of items. The belts, pulley alignment, tensioner/idler bearing, harmonic balancer with bad elastomer bond, etc...

I agree with Eric. Those tensioners and especially look at the harmonic balancer because if its starting to wobble on you, that needs attention right away.
