Default Random AC/steering questions

I've had a little intermittent squeak type noise that I seem to have at least stopped for now by removing the AC belt. However, when I was under the car last weekend I saw what looked like quite a bit of shiny (liquid) on the bottom half of the AC/pulley. I couldn't get a good look with the steering rack in the way and can't see from the top. Was thinking about pulling the steering so I can see in there (and I need to replace the crank pulley), but I had some questions first. Does the AC get any oil from the engine, or is it self contained/lubricated? After removing the rack and putting it back in, will the power steering bleed any air that gets in the system back up to the reservoir? What do I need to do about the AC system in the event I find a problem with the compressor and have to remove it?

If you are referring to the air conditioning, no.....the system is self contained, and does not use engine oil.

There is a procedure in the service manual to bleed the system.

First you need to determine if you have a leak. You can use a dye and a black light to find the origin....if it is not obvious.

No offense, but based on these questions, you need to get a service manual so you can get aquainted with the systems you will be working on..
