Just bought a new battery red top. Can't get it to stay inside of the battery tray. So everytime i start it, it's throwing all types of codes. Any ideas?
I don't think one has to do with the other, but I can suggest that maybe try charging the battery. It may have been sitting on a shelf for a while, or you just got a bad one. Double check your connections and make sure there tight. As for the loose battery, pull the battery out and check to make sure nothing is underneath it. The clamp at the bottom should grab the lip of the red top. Another suggestion is did you get the correct model red top for the C5. I have a red top, but don't know the part number off hand. Hope this might help, Good luck
There was a thread not too long ago about an Optima moving around in the tray. Turned out that the back lip of the tray was not grabbing the bottom of the battery, the battery was actually sitting on top of the back lip. Might want to check that.
I'm guessing you put it in incorrectly , a common happening
When I got back from Florida after almost 3 months the battery on my 'Vette was totally dead and that's after I had a battery tender connected to it.
I found out that the AC Delco 75 series Battery is not a maintenance free battery and that all the water was boiled out of it,I had just got the car and didn't know about the battery anyway I was lucky and after filling the cells with distilled water it came back to life after a short charge.I may get a new battery to replace it soon just to be on the safe side.I was told that if you store a 'Vette it is a good idea to take out the battery and store it in a warm place with a trickle charger.
This also helps the 'Vette from being stolen.
