Default Clutch install question

How far will the torque tube be from the bellhousing before you have to finish with the bolts?

I have a 1-1.5 inch gap between the torque tube and bellhousing right now. I can't tell if the input shaft spins with the flywheel. I'm trying to tighten them together with a c-clamp, and it's starts pushing them together but always pops off after a half inch.

Figured I'd ask before I keep trying.

Re-check your clutch alignment with the alignment tool. That thing should slip in and out easily if the disc is lined up properly. If you have to force things together it means your alignment is off slightly and you will trash your pilot bearing,,,,been there, done that!

Also check to make sure the wire harness is not pinched at the top of the bell housing.

The alignment tool does go in and out easily and the wire harness is not in the way. I think the c-clamp is getting old anyway. I'm going to just keep working on making sure the input shaft is in the clutch disk.
