Dude I completed my mods 10 days ago . I finished it off with the Ripper
I waited for a Hurst a couple of months ,and have been driving my 97
for 4 plus years 50k got the 02 Zo6 clutch pkg installed topped it off
with that Ripper.Damn I can thank the Dudes on The Forum the throw
is cut 35-40% It doesnt hang up like that piece of CRAP stock shifter
Getting those ponies on the ground and driving through the gears is like
night and day.It feels like a new CRUISER!!BETTER!!RIPPER or HURST
BUY IT EITHER ONE COMPLIMENTS THE CAR!! :chevy :chevy
I measured the throw of the stock shifter from the dead center of the **** going into fourth from third. Stock = 7". The ripper cut 2" off the throw and measured 5". I love mine and after changing the springs out to make it harder to go to the left and much easier to throw right, it's perfect for me.
I recently installed the B&M Ripper Shifter and like the feel a lot better. It's significantly stiffer but I'm hoping that over time that will change as the B&M shifter did in my son's 99 TransAm. My only complaint is that it's noisy.
