Default C5Z X Pipe question

Hello,

Question for my CA CF brethrens:

My just purchased (last month) '02 Z06 passed CA emissions with a K&N intake and Borla Stingers. I would like to replace the OEM H Pipe with a Borla Crossover X Pipe on the Z to do away with the gurgling sound the car is making under deceleration. Would this mod cause me to fail CA emissions?

Thanks for any input fellas.

As long as you keep the cats and rear o2's you won't have an issue.

I agree with Jnape... Shouldn't be an issue if the cats are there!!! I just did mine last week, no more motorboat!! Borla was a strait forward install. Where are you getting yours from??

Just ordered one from a company called StreetSide Auto. It was the best online price I found. Would this be a DIY or am I better served taking it to an exhaust shop?

You would probably be better off taking it to an exhaust shop. The stock h-pipe has to be cut and the x-pipe has to be either clamped or welded on.
