Alright, guys, I am on the fence about this cam swap. My '02 Z06 is all stock and has the broken valve spring listed in this post set. With 85,000 miles, am I crazy to not go ahead with a timing chain and oil pump replacement along with a cam swap? I don't necessarily need more HP, but if people claim that the chain is due to fail, I think I should go ahead and replace it, which leads to the cam/pump swap.
What do you think? Am I looking down the barrel of a loaded gun not going ahead with the chain replacement?

If you are happy with the way the car runs, and feel the HP is adequate......then leave the cam alone. How soon the chain will meet it's demise has a lot to do with how you drive the car. There is a huge difference between a street driven car, and one that does auto-xing. If you want a piece of mind, and more HP is not your goal, change out the pump, chain, and springs.....and enjoy your car.
