Hi Guys:
I have a C5 FRC with a LS2 engine and a blower camshaft. It has headers and a magnaflow catback. I have a problem when I try lunching the vette from the hole It goes all over the place but straight. I installed a few weeks ago a couple of 305-40-18 Nittos extreme drag. The tires help but still have this problem. Any suggestions from you guys? Are there any parts to improve the vettes traction? By the way this is a street car, I am making in the a Mustang dyno 650 hp at the wheels. thanks for your help
It sounds like your launching on "the street". I won't go into the illegal part, but it is dangerous! You won't get much traction on the street with that much power. Most good drag strips are sprayed with traction compound and all loose debris is removed. The nittos are not the best tire for traction. Search the drag racing section under "general" and you will find what the guys with your HP are using.
Don't practice on the street
Please take it to the track

I've never attended a lunching with my vette. I did take my truck to dinner once.
maybe time for a diff fluid change? if you changed it recently, did you make sure to add the friction modifier? these things can cause less traction on one side of the car, causing it to go sideways when the tires spin.
Not sure you're ever going to get any traction on the street (read no burnouts in clorox) with that hp
I'm running the same power as you and the Nitto 305 RII tires, and I can easily break them loose at 60mph (as can a LOT of guys here on the forum)
UNLESS you are on the track (read burnouts) you may have to settle for the old "drive it off the line" procedure. With practice, you will be able to see what it will hold and how quick
The alternative of course, is to do like some of the guys and get a better (sticker) set of drag radials.
Just not the option I wanted

Lunching problems
I agree. I only get a 1/2 hour, but at least it's paid. Can't really go anywhere and back to get anything to eat, so I have to bring my lunch which is a problem.

Who are you, his dad? The police perhaps? Where's it say he's participating in illegal street lunching? Maybe he's having lunching problems at the "legal" drag strip with his "street legal" C5! "No No No Jr. Don't make me give you a timeout for illegal street lunching!"
