I have a Monster 3.5 ready to go in my H/C/I/nitroused Z06, but have been hearing some negative feedback on them, and wanted to ask on here.
I have heard the pp does not align properly in some, and there is an issue with the balance and the dow pins.
let me know...
I just installed a 3.5 in my car. Just got pass the break in period but have not had any issues you mentioned. It is definitely better than the spec 3 that was in it previously. So it is still in the beginning stage but so far so good.

Did you do the install? I have heard the pp does not use dow pins, and therefor causes improper alignment and vibrations??
The 3.5 is what I have too, just not yet installed.

Don't get too caught up in the bitching about clutches. I bet if someone actually collected the data for root cause, they would find that 80% of the issues are self induced (guys not knowing what the hell they are doing), and 20% are actual material failures.
I have 14K on my Monster 3.5 clutch and no problems at all and its beat on severely every time im out with plenty of boost banging gears.
No their kits does not use dowel pins to positively locate the PP on the FW (at least last year they didnt). I had my assy balance checked at my machine shop and it was well within specs and we moved the PP around 3 different times around FW to see how much balance changed with no dowel pins and it was negligible and within specs each time.
If your gonna get it checked have the machine shop pop some dowel pins holes in FW and drill for them in PP for you for about 30 bucks, that way you know if the balance was checked it will be exactly the same when you put it back on in same position. I did not put the dowel pins in but dont regret not doing so (I thought they were put in and when picked up didnt have time to wait to do it so didnt do it). There is no vibration at all and I DID NOT RE-USE THE FACTORY FW WEIGHTS as so many on here insist they have to be reused on a aftermarket FW which is BS!
Have your installer measure to see if a shim is needed behind the slave. Monster says they arent needed but its very close. I also use my stock hydraulics which are just fine, some people opt for a Tick adjustable master. Mine crept a little till broke in but now is fine. Probably could have used a .010-.020 shim on it.
Id use one again without hesitation altho they no longer make the 3.5 series.

I had a shop do the install. I purchased the kit that comes with clutch, flywheel & slave cylinder. The shop installed it just how it came they never had it balanced and it is fine.
