It installs shiney side out and there is a light adheasive on the foam rubber side. Ive removed some of to do some mods and it comes off fairly easy if required. It does a very good job at heat and noise dampening.

Does this install in place, over the tunnel plate, or does it need to be covered up with a new tunnel plate?
