Default Just installed my LT's, quick question!!!

hello everyone,

so i just installed my LG LT's, i have the street series with cats and a borla x. buttoned everything up this afternoon and got her started, the idle is good, its not bad and there's no CEL , but i can feel the body idle a tad more rough, its not hugely noticeable but i can feel that theres a difference. if the car was misfiring, would it behave in this manner? the idle sound is smooth and not choppy, i didnt get to drive it but i did move it out of my garage on to my driveway and back in to readjust the space and it drove fine.

should i be worried about this? i'm guessing its because its running rich, theres no sputtering or lagging or anything like that, i just noticed the idle/body movement was a little more than normal is all. besides that the header and x combo paired with my corsas sound great and i couldn't be happier hope someone can chyme in with some advice, thanks!

Glad to see you got everything together. Now that you have your exhaust installed you need a good tune to get the power out of it. Call Doug or Chris at eastcoast supercharging in creamridge new jersey. They are hands down the best. Doug tuned my car after I installed my long tubes, let me tell you it felt like a whole new car. You will also get better sound and fuel economy. They can do a mail order tune for you. Trust me this will be the best mod for your car!

Definitely true on that tune. I gained 24 RWHP after a tune.

Absofreakinlootley!! Not too many run normal after long tubes installed...It'll run, and you won't hurt anything driving it like that, it may even run a bit better the more you drive it, as the computer(s) will learn and adjust somewhat, get a mail order tune as mentioned above, and you'll be REALLY HAPPY with your headers!

i agree, i didnt think the sound would make a difference since i had headers on my ls1 rx7 (never had stock on there so i dont know the difference) but that ran rough. i started it after the install yesterday and OMG, i cant wait to drive it, just idling and rev it sounds amazing!

Enjoy it.

LT's, Cut-outs, 2800 TC, Callaway Honker, Drag Radials are the major changes, many low and no cost tweaks. Next week I am taking the car on an economy run and hoping it will average over 30 mpg for the 80 mile course.

It will learn. Take it for a drive. You'll hear and feel a difference. And My DIC mileage improved to 28.4 average. A tune is in the future for me after the heads and cam.

nice! i need to adjust some exhaust flanges here and there so it wont scrape and then i'll be able to take it out. man you guys are getting awesome mileage, my 01 hit 21mpg at the most, haha, but i dont take it on the freeways much, usually only short distances or 20 miles at most on the freeways.

got to take it for a drive today, everything was going okay until i got a CEL, pulled the code and it was P0153 Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Slow Response Bank 2 Sensor 1 , im guessing theres an exhaust leak under there, i cleared the code and will look everything over again, hopefully its just some wiring or that leak which im pretty sure it is, had to mismatch some clamps so that might be the issure, besides that, this thing is throaty with my corsas

After you get the tune the codes will be gone, and yes you will pass Ill emissions test. Enjoy

I get slow response bank 1 and a couple bank 2's. Many have reported this so I doubt you have a leak. Was told that's the nature of the beast. Easy to rest the codes with the DIC. I've gotten used to doing it on the fly.

i just finished my LT install, and it did all of the above. one thing i didnt anticipate was the burning plastic smell of the blue retainer clip on the o2 sensor that i forgot about

you can tell it runs incredibly rich at idle/cold start now. im talking it smells like my Nova just cranked up! do you guys think a Predator would tune most of this out? how much better do you think a mail order tune (which im assuming costs about the same) would run?

You can get a mail order tune from East Coast Supercharging for $150.

sweet thanks guys! definitely glad im not the only one, haha. yeah a mail order is cheap, i think i paid $150 for my rx7's 99 pcm/ecm. and the cold start is like mine too, definitely rich!

one of the clamps on the pass side was actually stripping so i tightened it as much as i could, i may be replacing it to see if that code will go away, i wasn't planning on tuning until i got a blower and cam but we'll see how it goes, i wonder what it'll sound like without cats, hahah
