Check Engine Light – Help
When I started the car the check engine light came on. When the car is under a constant load (constant speed) the light is steady when accelerating the light blinks. When I ran the codes the following history codes came up:
10-PCM P0171 Fuel Trim System Rich Bank 1
10-PCM P0174 Fuel Trim System Rich Bank 2
10-PMC P0300 Engine Misfire Detected
The car runs like it’s on 6 or 7 cylinders, really rough. About a year ago I had something similar and it turned out to a plugged up catalytic converter that blew the head gasket. Wonder if it’s the same thing? Another question can exhaust backpressure cause the catalytic converter to “melt?”
FOUND THE PROBLEM, WENT TO A CAR SHOW AND SOMEONE CUT TWO PLUG WIRES.
