1. Turn the ignition to ON.
2. Press the RESET button in order to clear any IPC display warning messages.
3. Press and release the OPTIONS button on the DIC to scroll through the display options until the IPC display is blank.
4. Press and hold the DIC RESET button for 3 seconds.
5. Press the OPTIONS button again until the TIRE TRAINING message appears.
6. Press the RESET button until the IPC LEARN L FRONT TIRE message appears in order to begin the programming sequence.
7. Install the J 41760 (Magnet) over the left front valve stem.
8. The horn will sound, indicating the left front TPM sensor is programmed.

Important

If the horn does not sound after 15 seconds, remove then reinstall the TPM sensor programming tool. This procedure may have to be attempted up to three times in some instances.
9. When the horn sounds, proceed to program the next TPM sensor in the following order as directed by the IPC messages:

* LEARN R FRONT TIRE
* LEARN R REAR TIRE
* LEARN L REAR TIRE

If a relearn doesn't work, they may have broken them.

Gene....Is it possible to have only ONE working TPS and get the system to work properly?
Does the vehicle computer read a different "code" for each sensor along with the different wheel position?

The reason I ask...I bought a 99 and the TPS read fine for a while. Then the DIC said the FR TPS was showing XXX. I bought a new one from you and replaced the front right. Ends up the front left battery was worn out.... when I went to reset the system this showed up and I had to replace the left too....

It's not uncommon for more than one sensor to go at the same time, they should all be the same age. If all the sensors were properly programmed the remaining sensors would continue to read as long as they had battery life.

You can't do the programming procedure unless you have 4 working sensors. The program needs to completely cycle or you will not have the readings in their proper order. Yes the computer knows which sensor is on which wheel once the sequence has been completed.

One possibility, if these are the original sensors, their battery life could be at an end. I had the same problem, after repeating the relearn procedure over and over, still not reading. Finally I was about to change tires, so I figured it was a perfect time to change the sensors. Haven't had a problem since.
