Default How to install and x-pipe?

Im thinking about installing a borla x-pipe on my 02 Z06. I was wondering if anyone had a step by step process on how to install this? Along with what tools I need and how hard is it to install?

Thanks

You can find instructions by looking up various muffler and x-pipes on the internet. Many suppliers have the instructions just a click away.
It is not a difficult jub if you are handy and have done muffler/pipe kind of work. A few sockets, and a sawzall, is practically all you will need besides ramps to get it up. Good luck!

I just installed the Borla last week, It was a snap, seriously, What you need is a reciprocating saw, tape measure, sharpie, hand tools to unbolt and re connect the tail pipes.
I lifted the passenger side up, used jack stands for security. I measured the x pipe from the tail section to the front, the pipes are cut offset, measure twice before you cut!!! The drivers side will be longer, transfer the measurements to the stock pipe, take into concideration the amount you will need to slip into the Borla X pipe end. Mark your cuts with a sharpie, check measurements!!! then CUT the stock pipes, remove the bolts from the rear section and remove the center hanger bolt/spring then the stock pipe. Now slip the band clamps on and then the New X pipe in place, attach the rear section with the bolts provided, don't forget the gaskets, re attach the center hanger and tighten the band clamps. You might need to re-allign the exhaust tips, I did. I don't think I left anything out!!! I took me about 45 minutes with a little assistance from a friend. Hope this helps!! And I'm sure you will be pleased with the sound!!

a chain cutter does a really nice job of cutting the pipe and you can rent them at places like AutoZone

I would not want to attack those pipes with a sawzall. It's tight up there ... too much chance of nicking something or going off-square.

This...

makes it so easy

The sawzall was a bit hairy, I managed to cut it without any collateral damage!!! The chain cutter would make it REAL easy!!!! Nice Suggestion!!!
