I've read a couple different threads on door panel removal. One related to door locks the other related to replacing door handles. Each piece talked about the door pins both male and female ends.
Earlier, I had attempted to remove my door panel and before getting too far, broke a couple of the male pins. Hence, I ceased my project (replacing my speaker screen.)
Before I continue, can these pins be replaced if they break?
Check several parts sources via the WEB. I had to buy some last year and was surprised at how much some places were charging -- even on EBAY!
I think I paid just under $4 for a female and around .80 for the males.
Also after breaking a couple the first time I used a little pry bar in between the male and female the last time and no problems. Spares are cheap at the dealer.

I purchased the little door panel removal tool and also some spare male pins. So now, it's time to tackle the project again.
