My C5 vette tends to wheel hop under full throttle rowing threw the gears? I replaced the shocks (bilstien sports) and Z06 sway bars and the problem is still there. Has anyone every experienced this problem before? and how did you solve the problem. I have the Goodyear F1 295/35/18 run flats on the back with stock springs and lowered on the stock bolts, the gets a little unsafe when it bounces around like that. I don't want to have any issues with the rear end. Any input would be greatly appreciated
This is a problem that plagues c5 owners, exact causes are debateable but it seems to be a combination of factors so there seems to be no concrete cure as what works. as a cure for one car does not guarantee a cure for another but some factors seem to point out what has a large influence on your cars tendenancy to experience wheel hop one being tires old hard tires seem to compound the problem. If you put on tires that are noted for getting many miles out of them(eg Michelin pilot sport) chances are before they are through half of their tread life wheel hop will rear its ugly head.very seldom do you experience wheel hop with drag radials, regardless of wear. The most successful modification with regards to ride ,control and elimination of wheel hop is conversion to coil overs but with a $2000 price tag few are willing to take that route. My advice get new tires something with a softer compound look for a low treadwear rating

Great advice
close to 100 rating as possible. PLUS SIDE LOTS OF TRACTION
Down side, they only last a few thousand miles. if that
Your profile states that your @ stock HP. You shouldn't be getting wheel hop through out the gears. You need new rubber in the rear, w/out a doubt. Good luck & be safe.
Get used to it. Until you dive into the suspension, you're going to be hopping all over the place. Just a plague of IRS cars. Don't let it pound too hard, or you'll break the teeth off on the ring gear. Other than that, have fun.
