wondering which way to go C6 Z51 or C6 Z06 anyone have any input on this or has anyone ran both of these at some point. I know C5 guys run both but how to decide which way is best...thanks
There have been several discussions on this topic some say that if your not running wide tires that you may not be happy with the C6 Z06 setup.
For me I just installed the C6 Z51 on my 98 and they made a world of difference even with the F45 shocks which I can finally feel a difference between settings.
Hotkis makes a really nice balanced set complete with all hardware including decent silent and long lasting links and squeak-free bushings. The front is stiffer than the Z06 bars and the rear is adjustable so you can tailor it to suit your driving style and is about half the price of pfadt's. Sticking with GM parts, I'd recommend Z51 over the ZO6. The C6Z06 rear bar is quite stiff but to each is own.
Stiffer rear bar = tail happy Vette. Especially when it catches the casual driver by suprise. Driver says "ohh crud!!" and lifts (or even worse, brakes) and whallah! Even more tail step and BOOM! A visit to the body shop
Combine the bars with a Z06/Z51 front spring and Bilstein or C6 shocks and a decent Z06 alignment, your Vette will be on rails.
