Hey guys,1st post here.Complaint is steering wheel locks & engine dies. What "normally" causes this?Anyone else had this problem?Car is a 99 auto.PLEASE HELP
I recall has been done at the dealership.Any ideas as what is the common problem I am experiencing if any.I checked the sticky & seen how install a bypass but nothing related to the engine dying.Could the ignition switch be causing this problem-2 problems?I know I have to dig in but, just wondering if anyone had these problems happen with their c5-engine stalling & steering wheel locking?
Security locks the steering wheel and does not allow the car to go faster than 2 mph-READ THE STICKY ON THIS-painfully long but EVERYTHING YOU WANT TO KNOW IS THERE.
The reason the sticky is SO LONG is that a couple of times a week for several years a post like THIS comes along, and the poster does not want to read the sticky and add yet another post on the steering wheel lock whick only adds to the volume.

the recall is what causes the fuel cut. they didnt want to take the time to find out which cars coming in for the second recall had had the first done. (second was relay on BCM to eliminate DIC message)
realizing potential danger arising from still having the lock ring on the column, yet a disabled warning message, they added a 2mph fuel cut based on acuator position, regardless of DIC status.
Cheap, annoying corner cutting on GM's part. basically every issue nowadays is UNfoking up their recall bs.
mine did the same thing last friday. pull up the pass floor mat and drop down the carpeted access panel in the toe board, theres a fuse box in there. pull fuse 23 and 25, check if they are blown, if not leave the out for 10 minutes then reinstall them and see if error message goes away, then order a clb kit from corvettes of dallas. thats what i did
