I thought they were compatible, but I am not completely sure. I know the sizes of the wheels 17 x 9.5 C5 vs. 18 x 8.5 C6 (Front), and 18 x 10.5 C5 vs. 19 x 10 C6 (Rear) are different, but I thought the C6 wheels would fit the C5 with properly sized tires?
Can anyone speak from experience and let me know for sure?
Only need spacers on rear, 1/4"-1". Some spacers bolt to your stock studs and have there own attached studs. I forget what vendors have them but lots do. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I would like to thank the people that gave me answers. To the people that only replied by asking me to do a search. I DID A SEARCH before I posted. I put in "C6 Wheels on a C5?". What came up? Try it yourself! No answers that I could find. So, I was very happy to get the nice responses. It probably took them the same time as the other responders telling me to do a search.
To those that are telling me to do a search instead of replying? If you feel I am wasting your time, go to the next question/topic, because I always try to do a search first. However, I am very sorry to have wasted your time and caused you to reply that took you the same amount of time as just answering my question (that you see every week) and are very familiar with. In fact, others had already answered my question, why did you bother if your time is so valuable? Push the NEXT button! If I only cruised this forum everyday maybe I would know the answer, but I am not retired yet.

correction what you just described is usually labeled a wheel adapter not a spacer. A spacer is just a block of metal that slides over your existing studs and steals threads and causes an additional stress point on your stock studs.
They can sheer the bolts off and most tire shops wont touch a car with them just fyi.
I stand corrected. I have the "adapters" and were a very easy install. My son used "spacers" and had to remove all the stock studs and replace with longer ones.

I see you have been introduced to the "Fortunate One". You will get used to some of the replies eventually. He is quite knowageable however, and try not to **** him off to much. You may need some of that knowledge someday. Also, to some other members, spelling seems to count.
I just didn't get the results when I searched by using the words I used (I think it was "C6 Wheels on a C5"). If they would have come up...or if I could have come up with better search criteria and they would have come up, all would have been fine.
Once again, thanks to the guys that overlooked that and gave me information. Maybe someday I will be able to help someone out also?
One thing I will do, as I have in the past, is to try a search before I post. : ^)
No matter what, I am very happy I got the answers I did and I thank this Corvette Forum and it's members for a very fine web site.

Here's a picture of my frc with c6 wheels on it. No adaptors in the picture...although I've got them ordered and will put them on soon. Definitely needs an adaptor to sit flush, thuogh it's hard to tell from that picture.
The reason you can't archive is that you don't know enough to ask the right questions. What you want to know is the wheel offsets. The distance from the wheels mating surface to the hub.
To figure out if a wheel/tire combo will fit you need the bolt pattern, wheel size ( diameter and width) and wheel offset. Then fit the tires to the wheels and fender well area.
This link can aid you when you get all the information. This calculator can be used to compare with OEM wheel/tire combo and help with tire size choices.http://www.rimsntires.com/rt_specs.jsp?postId=906
Understand that some CF member regulars get tired of the same questions year after year. We are more than happy to help, but also expect some effort from the novice. But if you don't know really what involved its hard to reasearch the archives . Be patient , there is nothing personal to an occasional pointed responce. Don't react. 99% of CF memebers are great folks and willing to help.
in all situations -except for autocrossing/roadcourse- you can use up to a 1/4" wheel plate spacer with no concerns over using the stock studs & lugs with a stock engine. Not only confirmed by professional mechanics (that will talk mechanic-speak to you ... and not lawyer-speak). And I've confirmed this myself with a lot of spirited street driving, and over 40 quarter-mile dragstrip runs on my C6 rims using 1/'4" plate spacers on the rears.
the front C6 rims are the same offsert as the C5's... nothing needed there,
The rear C6 rims offset is about 7/16" inward of where the C5's normally sat. A 1/4" plate spacer would put the C6 rims very near where the C5's would of been.

Sounds like you are the one PMSing... Give him some slack

That pretty much sums Lucky up. He's a good guy though. I'm glad to have his knowledge on this forum.
That being said, the search engine on this site sucks. I have much better luck searching CF via Google. All you have to do is append the string "site:forums.corvetteforum.com" to your Google query.

Hey I learned my at least one thing for today!!! Not about Lucky, I already know he is a good guy, but about targeted search using google with the website.....that's pretty cool. Thanks!!
