Default Not Low Enough!

I just lowered my '97 this morning using a kit from Xtreme. The back end looks great. However after following the instructions for lowering the front I can't even tell the difference. With the back lowered it almost makes the front look like it was higher than when I started!

Any suggestions on how to get the front lower? I have about 8 threads showing on the front leaf spring bolt.

Thanks......

You need to drive that puppy for a while to let the suspension settle. It took mine about 50 miles before it completely settled to it's present height.

It can take up to a couple of hundred miles to fully settle. I'd give it some time and then make some adjustments.

I only dropped 3/8" on the RF and 5/8" on the LF. This is after several weeks and a few hundred miles. The rear dropped about 1 1/4" on the stock bolts. I'm wondering if it didn't drop much in the front due to Z51 springs. Or maybe it's the Bilstein Sport shocks. Anyone have any thoughts?

Jim

If it's not enough after you let it settle, then there is only one other choice if you do not want to spend big bucks on coil overs. You have to cut 2/3 of the bushing on the front, that will get you low enough, check my sig. :D

Hey 2000^C5, I have to ask you, why do you have Hockey Canada pics in your sig? Not that I mind, in fact I like. :D :D I have two theories, 1. You are a Canadian working in Florida, or 2. you like hockey and only support winners, and Canadian hockey defines winners!

I had my bushings cut 2/3 in the front and that did the trick- looks quite nice and I couldn't tell any difference on the ride quality. I wouldn't hesitate to cut my bushings again if I bought a new vette. I do have bilstein sport shocks...

Here is the stance on my car:

Good luck,
Justin
