Went to Checker Auto Parts and got a Mighty Vac II hand pump kit. Put the car on jack stands and started with the RR wheel. The kit comes with different size fittings, the medium worked well. Take out the old brake fluid with a turkey baster, however be sure to keep the level above the minimum line. Top it off with the new fluid and attach the line to the valve. You will need 10mm wrench (I believe). Turn it a 1/4 to 1/2 a turn until fluid starts coming out. Squeeze the handle on the Mighty Vac to bulid pressure and wait until you see new clean fluid entering the container. Tighten the bolt and remove the nozzle. Do the same thing to LR, RF, LF. REMEMBER TO CHECK THE RESEVOIR OFTEN TO BE SURE THAT YOU HAVE ENOUGH FLUID. ALSO, DO NOT LET ANY BREAK FLUID GET ON YOUR PAINT. :smash: Good luck!
One thing to add. The instructions that come with the Mighty Vac say to start with the wheel closest to the brake system. Everyone here at the forum said to start with the wheel furthest away. Which is what I did.
Supposedly, the idea is to start at the wheel that is the furthest from the master cylinder. That may or may not be the right rear wheel. It all depends on how the brake system is plumbed. On the 97s the ABS unit is in the very rear of the car while on 98s and newer its in the front of the car. The location of the units could affect the length of the plumbing.
