Default Spec 3 Clutch "whine"

My new Spec 3 with 300 miles is "whining" out of 1st gear FROM A STOP ONLY. Everything else is roses. Im still breaking it in and city shiftin, sounds like someone dragging a chair across a wooden floor from a light or a stop sign when taking off. Is this normal for break in? Thanks

Yeah its normal. Its just the chatter. Most of it maybe all of it will go away after the 500miles.

The noise is common on the spec 3. 50/50 chance it will go away.

My Spec2 has a couple thousand miles on it and it occasionally lets out a "groan" in first and reverse, just as it engages.
I was a little worried at first, but now it's in the "it just does that every now and then" category.
Works perfect otherwise.

Just curious, why are you using a Navy one star flag officer 's flag as your avatar? This would bother me if you are not a Rear Admiral.

1861 Bonnie Blue Flag http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonnie_Blue_Flag

my Political expression

" Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Southern Rights, Hurrah!
Hurrah for the Bonnie Blue Flag
That bears a Single Star!"

ie individual and states rights over federal rights

I could use the Gadsden flag http://www.foundingfathers.info/stories/gadsden.html

OK back to topic

Political expression aside, the symbol you are using as you avatar is a rank insignia for a US Navy Rear Admiral Lower Half. I believe that thirty years of service to the Nation and the US Navy entitles me to be annoyed by its use for anything other that its intended purpose.

This is not forum banter or a game for me. I'm asking you and the moderators that out of respect for those who earn the right to fly that flag to remove it. Thank you.

If it is doing it on a slow release, I would recommend going out and beating on the car a bit. Get the disk hot and clean off and glazing that might be on it. This typically takes the whine/groan sounds out of them. After talking with a couple different manufacturer's it is caused by the disk being glazed over.

You are also asking a citizen not to excercise one of his constitutional rights.

He has the right to even wear a Rear Admiral's uniform in public if he wanted to.

You are wrong on both accounts, federal law specifically prohibits this under Title 10 of the US code. Bill, you are a retired Senior Chief, why aren't you chiming in?

The flag does have more than one meaning, and he said what the reason behind it was. I dont see a problem with it. BACK TO THE QUESTION. Like everyone else said give it some more miles and it should get better. I am about to put a SPEC 3+ in mine.

This does work, but its only a temporary fix..... at least for my Monster Level 3. The glaze builds back up a short time after with normal street driving.
