Default Clutch Clunk?

Hi Guys,

I'm still fairly new to my Vette (02' MN6 Vert) and I wanted to check in to see if a sound I was hearing was normal.

When letting the clutch out quickly (maybe too quickly) in most gears I get a sort of clunk sound, sometimes a double clunk. If I'm smooth on the clutch its quiet (except for the throwout bearing in 1st).

It sounds almost like something is loose, but the drive line on this car is far less dampened and noisy than anything I've owned before so I thought I'd check with the experts.

P.S. It only has 16,000 miles on it

Do a search for Rear Axle Nut.

I'll check them if I've got a socket that will fit, but I doubt that's the issue.

If I work the clutch in and out quickly with the revs miss matched a little in 5th or 6th I can hear it too. Basically I can hear the clutch working if that makes sense?

It did the same thing on my stock clutch and now on my new SPEC 3 Plus.

Since your new to the vette, its a good idea to change the clutch fluid regularly otherwise the components get contaminated and it leads to constant dark fluid and the "sticky clutch pedal issue"

Do a search on "Ranger" method; its real easy to do.
