I think my two tanks and pumps are hooked up wrong. I have done the fixes to the siphon valve but get no fuel going to or away from the pass tank (it is full. After looking I think someone has hooked to the second line from the "Y" to the black line coming from the motor (return I think) The lines are color coded with wire ties and the fuel pump is marked by color. I think after a dealer replaced the check valve they hooked it up wrong in the filter area. What is supposed to go where?
Also the fuel pump has three lines one is the pump (Black) second just opens to the tank and the third looks to go to a check valve in the tank (I assume it is anti-siphon) What lines are suppose to go to each, one is return and the other is flow from pass tank. Thanks it is a 98.
May help.
(1) Fuel Feed Pipe
(2) Auxiliary Fuel Feed Rear Pipe (left tank to jet pump)
(3) Auxiliary Fuel Return Rear Pipe (jet pump to left tank)
(4) Fuel Feed Pipe Check Valve
(5) Fuel Feed Pipe Tee with Orifice
(6) Fuel Feed Rear Pipe (to fuel filter/fuel pressure regulator and siphon jet pump)
(7) Fuel Return Rear Pipe
(8) Auxiliary Fuel Return Rear Pipe (jet pump to left tank)
(9) Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Regulator
Connect the auxiliary fuel return rear pipe (1) from the jet pump to the left tank and the auxiliary fuel feed rear pipe (2) from the left tank to the jet pump
That is a picture of 99 and newer as the return line is on the filter but it does show the hook ups as I thought they should be and I can say mine has been wrong for years. The way mine is the fuel pump has been feeding bothe the filter and return line. Bet that has caused problems with fuel curves.
Thank You very much!!!! The pictures give me a place to start!!!
Connect the fuel sender fuel feed pipe (1) (jet pump to left tank) and the fuel feed rear crossover pipe (2) (left tank to jet pump).
Connect the EVAP hose at the T-connector (2).
Connect the tank crossover hose (3).
Uncap the fuel return rear pipe (2).
Connect the chassis fuel return pipe (7) to the fuel return rear pipe (2) near the fuel filter area.
Connect the chassis fuel and EVAP pipe retainer (1) at the upper front of dash mounting stud (3). Tighten
Tighten the fuel and EVAP pipe retainer nut to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
Well, hooked it up like your picture and I think all is good!!! I now get flow to the siphon valve in the pass tank, only time will tell if it pulls fuel. Thank you much for your reply, you saved me a lot. Can't believe it was put that way by a dealer and I have been driving two years that way including two power tour long hauls.
