Look at changing BOTH tie rods
I've replaced tie rods before just not on my C5. Then had the car aligned IMMEDIATELY. If one outer rod is worn or sloppy chances the other side is also ready for replacement since they should wear at about the same rate. Better to have both new tie rods rather than change one in six months and have to realign the car again.
