Default Varnish Help?

I was recently able to buy back my 01 vert that I had to sell due to financial reasons about 4 years ago. I had sold it with 4,800 miles and a fresh crankcase full of oil to someone I know that took outstanding care of it in most every way. I got it back with about 15K miles on it. It had only 1 oil change for the 4 years it was away and the DIC showed about 7% oil life left. I put some seafoam in the crank and drove it about 50 miles, then changed the oil. My question is that there is some varnish build-up on the upper portion of the dipstick, so I assume there is some also in other parts of my engine. I plan to put some more seafoam in the crank this fall, put about 100 miles on it then change it before I put it up for winter. Any suggestions on anything else I can do to improve the health of my engine for the long term? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how you can make a correlation between residue on the upper park of the dipstick, and what is going on internal to the engine. There are ways to assess the condition of the engine i.e. oil analysis, compression/leak down test, spark plug condition, etc. Aside from that, without tearing down the motor, it's difficult to know what lurks inside.

With the exception of techron occasionally, I do not use additives in the crankcase.

I you have good quality fresh oil in it, add a can of rislone engine treatment and drive it to the next oil change intervel.

Rislone is a quality product that helps clean the engine. I doubt if theres any issues with your engine and If it were me, I wouldnt even worry about it.

Thanks for the responses. I'm real comfortable that I got the car back in fantastic shape. But if I had kept it throughout it's life it would have had it's oil changed once a year and we wouldn't be having this discussion. I just want to be sure that if there is something else I should be doing that it gets done.
