Default annoying dilemma

i have a 04 z06 and i recently put in LT headers, and when i did i replaced the wires and plugs..i been getting a noise that sounds like an exhaust leak on my driver side header..i investigated more and saw that there was no leak..its actually the metal piece with the spring that goes around the plug wire on the end that connects to the plug ..its a stock piece as u all know..and i wasnt sure if i should put them on the new wires for the heat issue...the metal peice is rattling against the cylinder head making the noise..i took some plyers and bent it down a little bit..it seems that its not on the wire snuggly and its rattlin around..i noticed that plug wire is shaking as if the plug is shaking ..i looked at the rest of the plugs and saw that none of them were shaking but this one..is the metal piece needed?? or can i just take it off and not worry about it..id leave the other ones on the plug wires but this one is just pure annoying

any advice??

How about a little investigation bro? 7 out of 8 positions do not have the problem.....figure out what the intrinsic difference is.

noticed no difference cept for the plug wire shaking..seems that the spring on the metal piece is worn out and loose..which is why i think its rattling

Honestly, I can't say I've seen the plug wires shake like that.....especially to the extent where it would rattle against the head. If you want to bring it by, I'll take a look at it for you.

Haha....it's hardly a beast at 520rwhp. I remember when 500 rwhp was an exception, not it's pretty average. A few of us are meeting at Libertyville Chevy for their open house tomorrow. Head up that way if you can...should be good weather.

Hmmm...well just my opinion, but I'd save the 80 bucks and put it toward a tune......just me though. A mail order tune would serve you very well.

Nope, we will be heading north. I will be at the Hoffman Estates cruise night on Monday(weather permitting).

Ummm..like the last 8 years. It's in the parking lot in Barrington Square where Menards used to be.

Didn't say Schaumburg and Barrington. Barrington Square Mall is located 1/2 mile east of Barrington road on Higgins.
