Would a 2.73 diff from a 2002 convertible bolt up to my 99 coupe with a 3.15 diff? If so, is there any reputable shop in Southern California that can do this and how much will it cost?
(please no lectures on: "why would you wanna do that?" just a plain, objective technical answer)
Thanks in advance for any info. By the way, I'm in the Lake Elsinore area.
i assume the OP wants better gas mileage or simply has a broken 3.15 and has access to an inexpensive 2.73 to get the car going again. having a car that runs again without breaking the bank would be a huge upside!
back to the question - the only differences i know of is between an M6 and an A4 diff. do a search on forum member Patches who documented a swap that he did. there are also two different carriers - one is beefier than the other. i don't know all of the details, but others here on the forum do. search is your friend here too.
