Default Looking to rebuild a t56 transmission Where to get parts

I bought a transmission that bad a grinding 3rd gear. I have a local tranny guy going through it (has a T56 in his truck he rebuilt) and I wanted to see if I can save some cash and get the parts needed myself. He can get them but I want to see what it would cost me. Any ideas.

Doesnt Tick also sell rebuild parts?

http://www.tick-performance.com/tick...ette/t56parts/ (guess give them a call)
Or a guy local to me who just built my trans - he knows these things inside and out - i am sure he could get you any part you want, and prices are very resonable...

That's where I got my parts. The Bronze pads, billet synchro keys, and steel 3-4 fork is a must.

I found these guys one day while looking for ways to make the TR3650 in my stang stronger. Says they can rebuild a Vette T56 for 375 which seems pretty cheap to me. Looks like they also sell parts and kits. http://promotionpowertrain.com/gm-stick.html

Did you use them for the rustang? I always worry about businesses with no Google reviews -- and they say they've been in business for 25 years?

I was looking into this May of last year, but then we bought a house and found out we were pregnant so it's been on the back burner until this summer. Here's a comprehensive look at what I found from different distributors:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing

Kits are at the top for the transmission. Green is the parts I was wanting, Yellow is inferior parts (plastic fork pads) where I'll need to buy the upgraded part additionally, and the Red underneath is anything I'd buy on top of the kit. Prices are a year old, but might give you some additional things to think about.
