Lifter hole orientation??? Front/back/doesn't matter??

Not sure what it does, gm installs them any which way

are you refering to the small hole on the side of each lifter?
I believe my stock ones were all facing to the rear of the car and I installed a set of LS7s which do not have any markings on them...
It has been a while so someone please correct me if I am wrong, hope this helps.
