mini tub question

i see details about how wide you can go, but does it add room for extra height? i don't really want to raise the rear of the car to get a 28+ inch tire in there.

I recently added a Lingenfelter mini-tub to my 03 Z06. I am using MT 345/35/18 listed as a 28" measuring 27.5" I had to raise my car about an inch to keep the tires from hitting when hitting bumps.

Remember with a 28" wheel the center of the hub is 14" from the ground.

Vs a 25 1/2" wheel the center of the hub is 12 3/4" from the ground. That is 1 1/4" lower.

Taller tires will raise the rear up

and with suspension compresses and hitting the bump stops on a launch the dreaded wheel hop will occur.

I thought the mini-tubbing was to be able to use a wider wheel/tire, not a taller one?
