Default Help needed to diagnose these codes.

I've had the car since October 09'. Had 27,800 miles when I drove it home. Almost 33K now so roughly 5000 miles since I got it. Before I got it home, it was at the Stealership getting brought up on mantenance. That's another story. No clue if they checked/cleared codes during/after the service. I've never checked.
When I first bought it I would avg 18 mpg per tank. Now 12???
Mods are as follows. Halltech Stinger, Corsa Indy Pace, ECS Mail Order Tune, New Wheels and tires (245/35R19 - 305/30R20)
All I did to get the codes listed below was turn the key to the on position. DID NOT START THE CAR.

PCM= P1431H / P1571H / P1626H / P1644H
TCS= NO CODES
RTD= NO COMM
BCM= B0844H / U1040H
IPC= B0521H / U1040H
RADIO= U1016H
HVAC= NO COMM
LDCM= B2282H / B2284H / U1064H
RDCM= B2253H / B2283H / B2285H / U1064H
SCM= NO COMM
RFA= NO CODES

It's a 97' MN6 if that matters. Tomorrow I will attemp to clear the codes and drive it a bit, then re-check the codes to see what comes up.

1431 "fuel level sensor performance"
1571 "traction control torque request circuit"
1626 "theft deterrent"
1644 "traction control delivered torque output cicuit

Either way, none of those are your problem, the car needs to be logged by a competent tech IMHO.

I thought the H at the end means 'history'- meaning these were problems, not anymore?

Are the codes I have to be concerned about. I get the infamous ABS traction control error every so often.
I'm gonna clear them and go for a spirited cruise and see what codes show after that.

At that given moment in time they are history, this does not mean they are not a problem.

If you ever need to look up some codes real quick, here is a PDF that you can use. It has some definitions too.

So should I clear them, go drive the car, then check again? With the engine running or not?

This could be related to the aftermarket size wheels, if the tire height differences aren't within spec for what the computer is looking for, it may get confused. Just a thought, and it's not something to be to worried about. Just clear the code if and when it happens. Most of the time it will be put to an H code on the next start up and not reappear.

But will it effect the traction control? Be a safety issue?

I just cleared the codes and am about to head to the gym. I'm gonna try to drive it hard to and from. maybe a few miles max. When I pull into the driveway, I will check for codes with the engine running and with it off. I will post up my finding in a couple hours. Please check back if you think you can help with this.
Thanks for the help gentleman. gotta love this forum.
Thanks ECS for the continued customer service.

So I cleared the codes and drove it pretty hard for a few miles to the gym and back.
Checked the codes while the motor was running, then turned it off, pulled the key and opened door, then turned to on and checked with motor off. Only 2 codes now and I got the same reading with the car running or off.

If I don't list a mode, it said no codes.

PCM P1571H
RTD NO COMM
RADIO U1016H
HVAC NO COMM
SCM NO COMM

Not sure about the radio one as it's a stock radio and works perfect. I'm gutting it and going all aftermarket so I assume it will always throw that code..

From a quick google search on the PCM code of P1571..... it looks like 97's throw it all the time. Not sure what to think of that though as I read you can't clear the code yet I can and then it comes back.

Back to my performance and gas mieage, is it possible my tune is off? Seems like if I had a problem big enough to cause a drop in mileage of 5-6 mpg, then it would toss a code??????

ECS, what should I check next? Maybe my speedometer is still off. Not sure how I'm gonna check it though. I will try my GPS speedometer on my Droid and see if it matches up. Not that the I know for sure if the Droid is accurate......

If you want to check your speedo get on a highway and do 60 mph then see how long it takes to do a mile (use the mile markers and time it). It should be 1 min. anything way outside of that means your speedo is off.

It will turn off traction control/active handling, until you turn off the car and restart it. Not a safety issue if you are driving normally.

The radio code is perfectly normal. It occures when the radio stops communicating to the pcm, such as when the car is shut off or radio turned off.
