The last several weeks I go to start the car and have trouble. Turn the key to the on position and all the lights come on, the seat moves to programmed spot, gauges go through the test but then nothing. The car does not try to start at all, no noise, no try to turn over, nothing. I can hear the relays for the daytime running lights activiating but that is it. Take the key out after multiple attempts to start, clean the key and still nothing after multiple attempts. Then all of a sudden starts right up and runs great. I have it at the dealer today but so far they find nothing. Does anyone have any ideas that I can lead them too so I don't get charged $1000 for diagnosing the problem?
Also no codes except the rear knock sensor that I am having them look into also since I have replaced that 3 times and the harness with no luck.

Reason: additional information
Just got off the phone with the service department. They were finally able to replicate the problem and think it is the ignition switch. Makes sense but they are going to run a few more tests to make sure.
The technician working on the knock sensor issue got on the phone to ask some questions which I was very happy about. He took the time to call me and ask what was happening, when did the sensor get changes last, did I use a torque wrench, all kinds of questions. I like this guy, he took the time to call and get it straight from the horses mouth.
