Any advice as to what the most common problems are? when i turn the key it seems like the engine is turning over more than usual ( a second or two longer) before it starts up. Only have about 55,000 miles on it.
thanks to all that respond

Got a fuel pressure gauge? They have gotten cheap. Put it on the end of the rail and monitor the pressure while starting. As mentioned previously, if you haven't changed the fuel filter, do so. I've seen some voltage issues with the Corvette fuel systems. If you are inclined, you can measure the voltage at the pump and purchase a Racetronix harness to improve the voltage at the pump. When is the last time you replaced your battery? I've seen batteries that will turn the motor over, but have such low voltage when doing so that the pump and ignition system have trouble. As a matter of fact, we just replaced a 6 year old battery on a car with similar troubles. Not a Vette, but a comparable circumstance.
It might be time to change the plugs and possibly the wires as well. Check the battery voltage and make sure you've got 12.5vdc static across the battery with the ignition off.

I felt the exact same thing a year or so ago. I just noticed over a few months that it was turning over more than normal to start. A month later my battery went dead. I was doing a mod inside my car and it killed the battery with the door/hood open so long. I had no idea my battery was weak. It was 5 yrs old though. I put in a new battery and all of a sudden my car was back to starting very quickly. No hesitation at all. It was not until I replaced my battery that I realized that my slow starting issue was my battery all along.
