Default C5 headlight door

I have a 2002 Yellow C5 - the drivers side headlight door started sticking and not opening well and now it seems to be out of adjustment - the door is sitting "crooked" in the opening. Any ideas? Thanks.

Can't say I've ever seen that. Sounds like something broke. Raise it up manually and have a look.

Can't be both ways partner. If it sits crooked, then something is bent, broken, or loose.

There is not that much to the assembly. The painted cover is held on by four screws, and the door assembly pivots on two shoulder screws, and is moved by a lever connected to the motor. If the cover appears to be secure at all four points, then you'll have to remove it to investigate.

Default headlight door parts

a couple of years ago I had problems with one of my headlights not always opening on my 99 coupe.

after some questions on this forum I was directed to a guy who specializes in GTO parts, but makes brass replacement gears for Corvette headlights.

I only needed the one but bought both and installed them (easily)..45 minutes - an hour each. They have worked flawlessly since.

don't remember the guy/company but found it through this forum

good luck
