I just bought a 2002 Z06 with 30,000 miles last week and I'm loving it however I wanted to see if there is any maintenance I should do.
I'm definately going to change the oil since I donth think the dealer did and check the air filter.
I also thought about changing the spark plugs and wires but not sure if I need to or not. Should I go ahead and do this since the car is 8 years old?
Is there anything else I should look into doing?
I would suggest skipping the plug and wires, they should be fine. I would change the trans fluid even though the manual tells you this is not needed. The trans oil maybe 8 years old and it breaks down with time. How are the tires? They can break down with time and exposure to sun. You may also want to check if the car has a CLB added or not. If not, get one. Other than the things mentioned above, get the car out and dirve it and enjoy!!
I would change all the fluids, transmission, cooling, brake, power steering, rear axle, and oil and pull a spark plug or two to see how they look. Check over the belts for dry rot and you should be good to go.

When I buy a used car, I change all fluids, plugs/wires,filters, etc. That way I have a baseline to work from, instead of guessing. Sure, it's a few hundred up front, but most of those items will last for years.
CLB does not apply to our year vehicles. Congrats on that headache. I agree with the others in replacing all the fluids. The car is 8 years old and you need to establish a baseline if you don't know if these fluids have ever been replaced.
Brake fluid
Transmission/differencial
power steering
coolant
engine oil
The dealer put new brakes and tires on so I dont have to worry about those. Im going to change all of the fluids and probably do spark plugs and wires also.
