Default C6 Z51 Swaybars

Got the C6 Z51 Swaybars (from Gene) installed today!! Man--what a noticeable and instant improvement! Made a day of it--Swaybars, Coolant change, and Oil Change--plus beer!

A few pic's of the old and new next to each other--the old one's sure seem puny now... and the polyurethane bushings are a lot more substantial...

Thanks to 0331 Marine for working with me today...

The C6Z51 bar is the greatest upgrade you can do for the money, especially if you're coming from a C5 Base suspension.

Sarge, are the bars touching the cradle at the 2 bolt mounting point? Many folks found out they were and thought it would interfere with the rotation of the bar as it's designed. I and a few others had to make spacers to get the bar off the cradle.

Not touching--a little over 1/8" clearance... no unusual sounds...

thanks for the heads-up!!

I have seen some people have to put a spacer in, but I think we will be good. Greg, we need to get it out on a good road and test them out.

I'm impressed!

Not with your C6 sway bars but with the spotless underside of your C5. Have you ever driven over a puddle?

Thanks--I think?? You may not believe this--but I just got back from the local mountains where I drove thru puddles, dirt, and it was snowing in May!! (unusual here)... But whenever I wash the Vette I take a moment to hose-down the underside a bit...

I am very thankful for the opportunity to earn your business and for the forum mention. I found myself looking more at how clean the undercarriage is than the bars, lol. Very nice, very impressive!

It is a really inexpensive, but very effective mod! I can't stress enough how much more of an improvement you will notice if you purchase the C6 Z06 shocks.

What's your take on their impact on the ride quality?

Not sure. Might just go with a 2+. I think the 3+ I bought is going to be overkill. Just have to take the time to sale this one.

I have a set od C6 ZO6 bars ready to go on my 02 ZO6. They came with the rubber bushings but not the metal brackets. Do i need different bracks or will the C5 ZO6 brackets fit the C6 bushings and bars???

Thanks
