Now is a good time to have a nice plate welded on.
Yeah just as soon as I can get the freakin header out I will. Damn Kooks are heel to get out. I think I'm going to have to pull my FAST intake in order to get the engine up high enough to get the driver side out. Spent about 4 hours on it today.

I have seen some great welders, I bet it can be done on the car?
Thats why it broke off. To much vibration and once its capped off there is no support left. It can be patched, its not Kooks fault at all, most of them will do the same thing. There is a lot of weight hanging and after time the vibrations are just to much for it to handle.
what are people using for a leverage point to pry the motor over? Frame and alt. bracket? Are they pushing the toward the motor with the top of the 2x4 with the bottom of it pushing against the frame rail?
Just about ready to SawZalll the damn primaries and buy something else.
And to take it to a welder I would have to try and get a trailer. I'm out in the country and not many mobile welding services out here.

Even getting a trailer would be a lot better than what you are going through, After you get it out you still have to get it back in, That is an easy in car fix for sure. Maybe take 10 mins.
I got the damn thing out. I went to the country lumber store and bought a 3' Hickory pick handle. Pushes with my left hand and lifter the header with my right. Came right out.
I don't know whether to beat the crap out of it with the pick handle or take it and get it fixed.
I think I'd enjoy beating it to scrap metal more...
Thanks for all the advice. Journey is half over. Still gotta get it back in...

Good to hear you removed it for the weld job or are you just going to replace it? To weld it properly the inside of the run being welded needs to be purged with argon during the welding. I hope the weld and reinstall goes well.
