the fob doesnt recognize my transmitter for my 2000 corvette , i did what the instructions said to program it. it goes to the fob but it doesnt do anything after that. i need some advice. is there a reciever or module that i need to replace. the locks and windows work on the door panel
the battery in the transmitter was old so i changed them. when i bought the car the keyless entry didnt work . but the owner said it use to work. the car was hardly ever driven. it only has 5700 miles when i bought it. it went through several car battery before she bought battery charger. so i thought the battery change would be a cause to reprogram it.
I'm not sure what you mean. The FOB's transmit a signal to the receiver which sends a signal to the computer and the various control modules. The FOB doesn't pick up anything so I don't think your friend knows what he's talking about.
Did you check fuse 27 with a meter on the resistance scale or just look at it. If you didn't check with a meter you need to. If the fuse is good you need to check for voltage at the fuse.
If the is good it is probably a bad receiver. You need to locate it and check for voltage at the connector. It's in the hatch area over the drivers side tire.
i appreciate the help , i just looked at the fuse. i will check voltage. my friend believed it the reciever that is bad i will check everything you said.
There is a post on here somewhere. If I can find it I will share. Basically mine just stopped working altogether. I was about to buy a new one until I saw a post that showed these points to sodder on the inside. Works like new. There was this small piece in mine that literally pulled up from the board.

His FOB AND his TPS's aren't working. Probably not the FOB.

Check your codes using the DIC. I think a bad receiver will leave codes. B\G

The code will only tell you that a module is not communicating. It will not tell you if the lack of comm is due to a bad receiver or a lack of power to the receiver. You still have to check for voltage. Absence of a code does not mean a receiver is good. It will only set the code if it goes out while in the process of communicating. If it went bad or lost power while the vehicle was shut off it would not show the code.
