Ok ive done a lot of reading about this issue. Sometimes when i start my car it says service column lock, and pull key and wait 10 seconds. MY question is my steering wheel is not locking up when these lights come on. Does this mean the recall has been done or maybe the bypass has been done? I have hp tuners beta so i can turn it off and set fuel cut off to 256mph, but i need to know if the bypass or recall has been done. Any help will be great. Thanks Eric
System operating voltage has a LOT to do with this issue. You need to test battery voltage directly at the battery prior to stating the engine and during cranking. The battery voltage should be at least 12.5 before starting and should NOT drop below 11 vdc during cold cranking. If it drops way low, you battery is severly under charged or is going bad.
When the engine is running check ALL the BCM 12 VDC power supplies. There are some that are battery voltage comming directly from the battery buss and some that come from the ignition switch (HOT in Run and Start) Check out this post and test the voltages.
In this post, it provided fuses that you can test to check the Hot in RUN and START ignition switch position. The voltage should be very close to battery voltage in the RUN and START positions.
My car is a auto. The battery was undercharged so i charged it. I also reflashed the computer and changed the fuel cut off to 256. There was a little black box under m knee bolster which im not really sure for what maybe bypass. My steering wheel moves freely side to side with the keys out of it. I think this means it was either bypassed or recalled from what ive read. The good news is after doing all this the messages are gone now and my fuel is not being cut off. Thanks for all our help.
