Interior lights staying on...ideas?

Interior lights staying on...ideas?
Yesterday I reset some options on my car, auto door lock, alarm horn & lights etc.
Later I noticed my interior lights on, all doors are shut tight, also this was random as they were out initially after programming. My battery is
very old, Im wondering if that is the issue causing the electrical probs.
Solutions appreciated...

Just to rule out the simple stuff...make sure that the interior light level dimmer switch isnt cranked all the way to the right into the "on" position...the typical 20 minute timeout for turning off accessories doesnt apply to the interior lights. Ask me or the tow truck guy how i know

Dimmer is fine, this happened since I put a battery in the remote,
and programmed options, if I lock the car w/ key or open it the lights go out & not stay on, weird.
