Projector HID wiring Issue.
Everything worked great with the exception of one thing. The headlights will not go down if the car wasnt running. When you turned the lights off while the car was off, you would hear for a split second like they wanted to go down but wouldnt...
I thought maybe the wire connectors were wrong, so I swapped them and had my brights come on. Then the Passenger HID stopped working. Now only my driverside HID turns on, The passenger side does not, unless I swap one headlight plug on the passenger side and reverse the polarity. Once I swap that one plug, both HID's and brights go on without having the brights on, and the headlights will close.
I swapped the plug back to its normal position and yet again no HID on the passenger side.
I did not replace or touch the Corvette garage main wiring harness, just simply swappped the Projecotrs out of my old housings with the new ones.
Here's how the wiring is setup.
Stock harness connecting to Corvette Garage harness.
Green/Black wire plugs into Connector with red/black/white wires.
Red/Black wires connects to Brights.
Black/tan plugs into Green and what looks like silver wire or (White Plug)
Then you have the black wire that connects to the green wire. The one that just pushes together.
It seems when I reverse the polarity, both HID's work, but the brights come on as well without me turning the brights on.
I checked the fuses on the Corvette Garage kit, and all 4 20 amp fuses are good. The ballast is still good.
Any help would be great.
What I dont understand is the Bright isnt working at all either. Would the ballast effect that since that wiring harness runs the HID and the Brights as well?
Make sure your positive and negatives are properly orientated. I've seen where the red (positive) and black (negative) are sometimes reversed, especially on the China made ballast.
The ballasts im running are Phillips from the Corvette Garage HID ACA Kit.
Edit.... I just changed the Relay and still the same outcome. No HID or Brights on the passenger side. I pulled the Bright from the driver light as I know it works, and moved it to the passenger. It doesnt work either.
I swapped the ballasts and the Driver HID lit up, (so the ballasts are not the issue)and the passenger side bulb did not. I took the HID bulbs out and put the driver side in the passenger and vice a versa. Both HID bulbs work, but only on the driver side.
Neither the HID or High Beam on the passenger side work, no matter what ballast or which HID I use. All 4 fuses and both Relays work.
I have an issue that started once the Passenger side HID and High beam stopped working. When I turn the parking lights on, the guage cluster lights up for about 2 or 3 seconds and then goes out. The battery is be charged by my trickle charger.
I have no clue what is going on. I would be grateful if someone with Electrical experience could help figure this mess out.
